Young Leaders Programme
An innovative leadership skills programme for post 16 students. A two-day residential course, full of practical, fun team building exercises. The event is completed with a project management session where students have to design and manage a project back within their school or college.
Negotiation Skills
Effective negotiation skills are essential when entering the world of work. Student's negotiation skills are put to the test in this highly practical session. It equips students with essential skills for life. Full or half-day programme.
Assertiveness Skills
Allows students to develop those communication skills required to create and maintain positive relationships with other students and teachers and within peer groups. Full or half-day programme.
Communication Skills
This can be run as a residential or on-site programme. Students are introduced to communication skills in a fun, practical way through indoor and outdoor activities. The first team activity introduces students to communication skills within teams by working together to create part of a famous painting. Following the programme, the finished canvas is donated to the school or college. One full day or one day plus half-day.
Time Management
This programme provides students with practical time management tools to aid students in meeting course work deadlines and effectively prepare for exams. Full or half-day programme.
Creative Thinking
Research tells us that organisations are recognising that, in order to move with the times, creative thinking needs to be instilled in the minds of their workforce. This fun-filled, engaging programme provides the thinking skills for young people to excel. Half-day programme.
Project Management
Turning ideas into reality. This course provides the practical tools to turn their ideas into real life projects. It develops a whole range of skills for business such as planning, time management, budgeting, monitoring, teamwork, risk analysis and management. Full day programme.
Stress Management
This programme provides students with the skills to equip them in identifying and coping with daily stresses such as coursework deadlines, peer pressure, parental and staff expectations. Half-day programme.
Interviewing & Employability Skills
A practical course that guides students through the key aspects of attending interviews. The course is delivered from a business perspective providing students with vital knowledge of the expectations of the employer and how they can tailor their skills to sell themselves.
Motivational Team Events
These events are designed to raise aspirations of what can be achieved. Students will find out about themselves away from the classroom through a range of fun team working activities. Each activity is debriefed to all students to learn from their experiences. Venues can be sourced and provided that create the right atmosphere. New Tricks can also organise team building events as part of a larger induction programme.
Stand & Deliver
Presentation skills are necessary for so many reasons in today's education and business environments. This practical course guides students through the principles of presentation and how to design an effective structure for the relevant audience. Interactive and practical, students will gain experience in delivering high impact presentations. This can be used as an add-on to course work where a presentation is required. Full or half-day course.
Positive Behaviour & Confidence Building
This programme focuses on relationship behaviour. It provides students with the strategies and communication skills to tackle difficult situations in a positive and structured manner. Full or half-day programme.
Treasure Hunts
New Tricks can design a tailor made treasure for your school or college that can be used as a fun and innovative team building activity during induction. Students get to meet each other through working together as a team but also get to learn all about the premises and relevant information.
